So, You Want to Earn Money at Home

Spread the love

If you want to earn money at home, you are definitely not alone. There are more and more people choosing to do so every single day. And why not? Who wants to get up in the morning, rush to get dressed, eat, and then go sit in traffic while hoping to get to work on time? How much better to get up when you want, stay in your pajamas, not spend any money on gas, and work in your favourite chair, listening to music?

Wouldn't you like to earn money at home?

Working at Home

It Takes Work

Unfortunately, too many of those who try to earn money at home fail.

Sometimes, it may be that they are not disciplined enough. As mentioned elsewhere, trying to earn money at home takes at least as much effort as working in a more traditional business.. You need to possess a certain amount of discipline and determination if you are going to succeed.

More than that, however, you need to know what to do and how to do it. There are plenty of online resources that offer to teach you how to do it, but with so many scams out there, it can be hard to know who to trust.

Fortunately, there are some sites out there that are legitimate and more than willing to help you to succeed, including the one that I have joined, where the training is top-notch, and there is a community full of people who are anxious to help in any way they can.

I know it can be hard knowing who to trust, after all nobody who is behind a scam is going to tell you such. The only way to really know for sure is to try it yourself, but in some cases, that requires an investment up front.

The first and most important thing for you to determine is whether you truly have the desire to do whatever it takes to make this dream a reality. As I said, many people fail. Is that because it is too hard? No, not really.

The training is all there for you, laid out in an easy-to-follow manner. There is constant support  and encouragement from the community. If you truly are serious in your desire to earn money at home, you can certainly do so.

Why Do People Fail?

So why do people fail? Because they never get past the point of wishing for success. Some of them never even define what success is for them. As I am fond of saying, you can’t reach your destination if you don’t know where you want to go.

Wishing for a better life is great. We all do that. The difference between wishing and having lies in determining exactly what you want and how you are going to get it. Is earning a lot of money your definition of success? Or is it being able to stay home with the kids instead of going out to work each day?

Maybe it’s having the freedom to work when and where you want, or maybe it’s following a lifelong dream.

Whatever it is, if you don’t define it, you’ll never find it.

When I first decided that I wanted to earn money from home rather than continue to work for someone else, I had all sorts of ideas of how it would be, of how I would be able to stay with my kids, or take a day off when needed, or even perhaps work half days. I was excited at the possibilities that I imagined were going to be available to me.

I wasn’t totally honest with myself about the amount of work it would require– especially at the beginning– or the difficulty I might have in keeping myself motivated.

Like many people, I expected that I might start earning money pretty quick. I didn’t expect it right away, but I also didn’t expect that it could take months, or a year, or even longer. Do you have the dedication to work at something for a year without seeing any results?

Don’t get me wrong; the results will come, it just may take more time that you anticipate. Can you wait that long? Not everybody is willing to do so. You have to always keep in mind that the work that you are doing up front is what will pay you down the road. You just have to stay on that road long enough for it to happen.

It can also be difficult if you are someone who likes to socialise. It can be difficult to work at home when you have no one else around, though for some other people, that may be ideal. It may in fact be one of the top selling points of starting your own business online.

Are You Ready to Do the Work?

Now, having said all that, if you still feel that you have the desire and the determination to earn money at home, there is still one obstacle to overcome: where do you learn how to do it?

Well, it does require a bit of a leap of faith. After all, as mentioned above, there are countless scams online, with more appearing daily. In a sense, though, that should comfort you. Why? Because it is proof of the fact that there is a tremendous amount of money to be made online.

Every day, people are looking for ways to better their lives. I was one, but now I am reaching out to help others. Maybe you will, too.

All I can tell you is that there is a growing need for affiliate marketers, as well as many other opportunities online. You can absolutely earn money at home if you would only decide that it’s time to take action.

It doesn’t even have to be that scary. You  can check the training out for FREE. You won’t even need a credit card.

We all dream about making better lives for ourselves. Only a handful of us take action. Will you? Isn’t it time that you stop dreaming and start doing? If you think that it’s time to start working for you, act now. You truly can earn money at home and I will be here to help in any way I can.

Excellent information and advice, Craig. I agree, we all “want” to make money from home, but do we want to work to get there. This is an awesome platform to give us the foundation and training necessary to build a business. WE have to do the actual work to make that happen. Great article!

    • Thanks for taking a moment to comment Sue.

I know that I have had many moments where I thought “ugh, this is hard… I can’t do it!” but in the end, I always found that staying in a job I hate, not earning the money I needed to provide for my family was even harder. Taking action can be scary, but it’s really the only way to move forward in life.

I know that virtually everyone in capable of making tremendous changes to their circumstances, if only they are willing to act!

    Dear Craig,

Thanks for the post on “So, You Want to Earn Money at Home” everyone are interested in making money online or earn a part time income or build their own online business but the problem is as you rightly said “We all dream about making better lives for ourselves. Only a handful of us take action.” Taking action is the key. Thanks for the post!

    Your Friend,

  • I think that is the one point that throws people off. How long it will really take. I mean if you are starting a brick and mortar business, then you will have investors and like that. You will not be making money. In fact, these are the times where you will always be in the “red”. It takes about six months for a brick and mortar business to start operating in the “black”. Meaning all money is paid back and the business is working under its own profits. How can we expect any type of business to not follow the same pattern of investment to growth?

    • I think the main problem is that many people who are looking at online opportunities first do so when they are in a difficult financial situation, or desperately wanting to leave their job. Consequently they are looking for results as fast as possible. I understand that completely, but unfortunately, as you said, it is simply not realistic.

That said, some people do experience some success rather quickly, but it is much better to expect to have to invest a fair bit of time and effort, but it is totally worthwhile.

  • Craig, you made several key points to working at home. I suppose the main one is that it is just like a real job that entails work. A lot of the ads so prevalent about working from home try to make it sound so easy. Start a website and “bam” the money starts rolling in. I suppose it does start rolling in for the person who is selling his “program”. My father taught me at a young age that nothing comes free. It takes work. Same hold true for “working” from home. We still have to “work”.

  • Lisa says:

I think you are right. The reason for failure for most people is just wishing for success and not putting any effort into it. It really does take a lot of hard work and dedication. You really do have to take a leap of faith as well.

    • I think the “leap of faith” is the hardest part. Working at something for months before seeing results can test anyone’s resolve, but everyone who is successful went through it. We just have to keep pushing until we get to where we want to be.

Hello Craig, I think you bring up some really important points . Working at home has to mean working at home, yes? I am finding that keeping my schedule and acting like I am the CEO does really make a difference. And I have put a sign in front of my desk that says I AM FULL COMMITTED. It works!
    in peace and gratitude, ariel

    • It can be pretty tricky, I find. When you first start to imagine working at home, you don’t realize how difficult it can be to stay focused. It took me a while to learn how to put myself in the right frame of mind to get work done.

      Thanks for commenting!
